DARK BLUSHING
The Getty and Write Now Poetry Society present Dark Blushing, a unique evening of poetry, music and art featuring some of the brightest stars in contemporary poetry—Patricia Smith, Ilya Kaminsky, Jeffrey McDaniel, Rachel McKibbens, Brendan Constantine and Suzanne Lummis—all presenting new work inspired by the Getty’s Luminous Paper exhibition. Their performances will be accompanied by the lush live music of Portland artist Timmy Straw, whose work combines classical training on piano and strings with electronic beats and loops, as well as Roberto Miranda, a dynamic bassist noted for his inventive, high-energy improvisations. And to highlight the two poet-artist double threats of Luminous Paper—William Blake and Dante Gabriel Rosetti—the show will feature celebrity readings of their work, including a special appearance by iconoclast Marilyn Manson. Curated and hosted by actress and author Amber Tamblyn and poet Mindy Nettifee, Dark Blushing is a night not to be missed!
The event will be held at the Getty Center in Los Angeles at the Harold M. Williams Auditorium. Dark Blushing is all ages and admission is free, but reservations must be made! Reservations open on Tuesday, August 23rd and may be made by calling 310-440-7300, or they can be made online at http://www.getty.edu/museum/programs/performances/saturday_nights.html. The "Make Reservation" button will appear on that page Tuesday, August 23rd at 9:00am.

For those people that do not have reservations! The Getty will operate a Standby Line beginning also at 6:00 p.m. You should check in with the Will Call table to get a numbered sticker to hold your place in the line. You can them go check out the exhibits! If there are empty seats before the program begins, they will be offered to the standby line.
