Write Now Poetry Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing the audience for poetry through performance, education, publishing and grant-making. Write Now Poets is entirely run by firey volunteers who believe in the power of poetry to transform all kinds of things that were born to transform. We are especially addled by the work of poets who are both great writers and great performers, an intersection of talents that continues to push the boundaries of what poetry is capable of as an artform.
In its fourth year of operation, Write Now Poetry Society is proud to be producing its fifth poetry concert in the Drums Inside Your Chest series, to have curated festivals from Los Angeles to the HIgh Sierra, sponsored countless poetry events, sent teaching poets into the public schools and the Brave New Voices conference, co-sponsored the Lighbulb Mouth Radio Hour series, and launched a poetry community leadership development project. EMERGENCY EMAIL BREAKDOWN APOLOGY
Following the launch of the Respect Fund, our email servers got crashed by the volume of responses. As a result, we did not recieve any emails sent to us in the last week, since March 17th. Everything is back up and running now, and we sincerely apologize if your note to us got lost in the interwebs-universe-black-hole. We hope if this applies to you, you will see this note and resend your original message. We are, at the moment, firmly blaming Mercury Retrograde and the fact the our Director is on a manuscript deadline, and rather feral and smelling of Balance Bars. Our sincerest apologies!
